Some of Our Services

Old woman smiles

Companionship

The SrHelper companionship services offer seniors someone to share a conversation or engage in activities with, combating loneliness and enhancing quality of life. Sometimes it's nice to simply have cookies and coffee with someone who knows about the 1960s because they lived them. Walks are nice too--we need our exercise!

Yard Work

Need a SrHelper for yardwork tasks, including mowing lawns, gardening, and leaf raking? Enjoy a tidy outdoor space without having to do all the work yourself!

Remember, your SrHelpers are seniors themselves, so they tend to only sign on if the work is "light." Heavy work will usually require someone with a dedicated business like a landscaping company. But "light" projects we can do!

cat, pet care, furry

Pet Care

SrHelper pet lovers can assist with walking, feeding, and caring for your animals. SrHelpers will help make sure your furry friends are well taken care of when you can't be there.

Transportation

Need a quick lift? Srhelpers can provide a ride for seniors who need to show up on time for appointments or family and social events.

Stay connected and engaged without the worry of driving.

Handyman

From loose toilet seats and hanging shower curtains to assembling furniture, some SrHelpers have handyman skills that cover a variety of small projects to help seniors maintain and enjoy their homes. Our experienced SrHelpers are ready to assist with most small tasks around the house.

Grocery Shopping

SrHelpers can facilitate grocery shopping trips for seniors who need assistance getting to the store, picking out items on the top shelf and putting groceries away at home. Enjoy fresh food and an outing without the hassle of transportation and heavy lifting.

Or if you prefer, we can do the shopping. Just send us out with the list!

How our pricing works.

Our SrHelpers set their own rates within the Sr4Sr range of $35-$46/hr based on the service. For one-time or single-hour visits rates tend to run toward the higher end of that range.

However if you'd like to lock in a better rate and have flexibility whenever you need it — our prepaid plans are the way to go. More hours, better rate, no expiration. See below.

How Seniors4Seniors got started.

This is a photo of my mom and me.

Sr4Sr was born out of a simple but uncomfortable truth — I couldn't help my mom as much as I wanted to.

At 81 years young, she's more than independent. But the reality is there are things that need to get done that she just can't do anymore. And services to fill the gaps are often hard to come by.

I'm four hours away. My brother would need a plane ticket. And with kids still at home, getting there isn't always possible. That reality comes with a fair amount of guilt — not from my mom — but from just knowing I should be doing more.

That feeling simmered in the background...

Then one day I was having lunch with my future father-in-law when he noticed a help wanted sign on the door advertising $19.50 an hour for a line cook. His eyes lit up. "Geez, for that money I might go back to work."

I laughed. "Well, get your exercises going!"

He shrugged. "I could never stand that long. And I don't want a schedule."

That was the moment. If there was a way to match work, to a senior's actual abilities, while truly offering a flexible schedule — there would be willing, capable, and motivated people to step up.

And I suspect there's no shortage of families like mine who need them.

Sr4Sr at its core, is the help my own family needed and needs to this day. It's dignity, independence, purpose, camaraderie — and a little bit of fun.

With neighbors helping neighbors, it's my hope, these next years can be some of the best years.

Frequently Asked Questions

Press the Schedule Now button below and fill out your visit request form. We will match you to a SrHelper in your area. And yes, absolutely, you can choose your own schedule for getting the coffee ready and your projects done! We aim to provide flexibility, so you can work with the senior helper to schedule a time that suits you both.

You can request assistance with everything from a game of cribbage to various small projects, including handyman tasks, yardwork, cleaning, grocery shopping, meal prep and more. If you have a specific project in mind, feel free to reach out to us!

Our pricing is straight forward, rates are between $35-$46/hr. SrHelpers determine the hourly rate in this range based on the request, the time of day and demand.

However, we do have guaranteed fixed rates at generally lower rates with our 2-hour, 5-hour Flex and 10-hour Family Peace of Mind Plan. These plans allow you to bank hours at locked in rates.

And it's entirely up to you how you want to use your banked time. Some families in the area set up hour visits five days a week. Some like to do an hour twice a week to play cards, some seniors just want the lawn mowed once a week.

The hours never expire and they are even transferrable to another family member. The costs on those pre-paid packages are below.

*If you live in a rural area and are more than 15 miles from the nearest SrHelper we do charge an additional $15 dollars, which goes directly to your helper. If you are over 30 miles away, we charge $40, all of which goes directly to your SrHelper. Anything, over 45 miles would have to be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Yes, we offer a 10% discount to all former members of the military and first responders. This discount applies to regular Sr4Sr pricing but is not applicable to pre-paid packages which are already discounted.

*Lt. Col Joe Reasbeck served 30 years in the armed forces and is the father of our founder. We proudly recognize his service and the service of all who have served.

We facilitate the connection between seniors who need assistance and those looking to earn extra income.

Once you submit your project or visit request, we match you with available reliable SrHelpers in your area. The SrHelper will reach out to you via phone or email, (however you prefer to be contacted,) to schedule a time that works for you.

Yes, gratuities are appreciated, but not automatic. Our SrHelper should have earned high marks from you to be deserving. We encourage our SrHelpers to be professional and do a great job completing the projects assigned! You can add a tip to the credit card payment (100% goes to your SrHelper) Or you can tip with cash!

*If you are on the pre-paid plan such as the Family Peace of Mind Plan, the only way you can tip your Srhelper is via cash.

Yes, we ensure that all Srhelpers go through a vetting process and background check to help maintain a safe and trustworthy environment for our clients.

We also go through an interview process to determine hobbies, interests and activities so that we can best match them to our clients. And of course, nearly all our Srhelpers are themselves 55+ in age.

To become a Sr. Helper, you need to be at least 55 years old, complete the application process and pass a background check. Once approved, you'll be able to accept projects and visits that fit your skill set and schedule.

You can work when and how you want and you're not obligated to take on a project or visit beyond your scope of interest.

Your earnings rate will be in excess of $22/hr (plus tips) through our Seniors4Seniors platform.

We will provide marketing to help you acquire clients, and we facilitate the secure payment processing. At year end we will send you a 1099 for your taxes.
